we can do it in 2 ways, by creating a Enterprise project it will automatically configure and deploy it to WAS when added to server and
2nd one is by generating EAR (using that build script) then manually deploy it using deployment manager
developer uses #1, admin does #2
have you ever did hot deployment?
In RAD it automatically updates the server for certain changes so from our end we don't have to restart the server again but of course that is not applicable to all types of changes
